The senior students act as volunteer tutors, providing guidance and reinforcement sessions to FIB students. Groups of subjects are always scheduled in their natural semester, that is, in Q1 - F, IC, FM, PRO1 - and in Q2 - M1, M2, EC, PRO2. Occasionally, groups from the 2nd year of GEI, PRO2 in the fall semester, or subjects from other degrees are added. Classes last 2 hours per subject and a minimum of 10 sessions are scheduled.
Their goal was to bring to FIB the program that had been running successfully for several years at ETSEIB. From the very beginning, the project has received support from the FIB Student Delegation (DEFIB) and has been promoted by the FIB dean's office. The program was finally launched for the first time in the 2017/2018 academic year.
Tutors participating in this activity during a semester receive the following rewards:
- If they are volunteer tutors, they can earn 1 or 2 ECTS for extracurricular activities (undergraduate or SIRI, in some master's programs) and
- A 10% or 20% discount on the enrollment order for the next semester, depending on dedication to the program.
- If they are scholarship holders, they receive financial compensation (learning grant).
During the break period between semesters, two tutor calls are held. First for scholarship tutors, then for volunteers.
After this process, based on their preferences and schedules, they are assigned subjects, the number of groups offered per subject, schedules, and classrooms.
Around the third week of the semester, a registration form for Aula Lliure is published on Racó so that Initial Phase students can sign up at no cost.
Collection of Editions
In this edition, Aula Lliure had 6 scholarship tutors and 9 volunteer tutors. A total of 21 groups were offered for the courses PRO1, PRO2, M1, M2, EC, XC and IDI.

The teaching offer consisted of 1 PRO1 group, 5 PRO2 groups, 4 EC groups, 4 M1 groups, 4 M2 groups, 2 IDI groups and 1 XC group.
A total of 132 enrolments were recorded.
Student survey results:
A total of 43 responses were received, representing 32.57% of all enrolled students.
In 95.3% of the responses, Aula Lliure tutors were rated as "very good" or "excellent" teachers. In 97.7% of the responses, students also stated that attending Aula Lliure helped them both understand and pass the course.
Regarding attendance, 81.4% of students attended between 50% and 100% of the sessions, while 18.7% attended between 25% and 50% of the sessions.
Regarding the second-year GEI courses, 100% of respondents believe they should continue to be offered.
In 100% of the responses, students considered the programme useful both for understanding and passing their courses.
Finally, 100% recommend attending Aula Lliure.
Regarding the tutors' survey, 91.7% consider Aula Lliure to be a valuable activity for students, and 100% recommend participating in the programme as tutors. They also stated that they had mainly improved their transversal skills, particularly effective oral and written communication, teamwork, and the effective use of information resources. Finally, the tutors highlighted how rewarding it was to build relationships with students and support them throughout their learning process.
The teaching team in this edition consisted of 7 scholarship tutors and 6 volunteer tutors. For the first time, the programme was also offered to students from the GCED, BBI and GIA degrees. A total of 23 groups were offered for the courses AP1, PRO1, PRO2, F, FM, IC, EDA and SO.

A total of 391 registrations were completed by 141 students.
Student survey results (65 responses):
In 92.3% of the responses, Aula Lliure tutors were rated as "very good" or "excellent" teachers.
In 100% of the responses, students stated that attending Aula Lliure helped them understand the course, and in 96.9% they also indicated that it helped them pass it.
Attendance was high: 76.9% attended "many classes" (between 75% and 100% of the sessions) or "quite a few classes" (between 50% and 75% of the sessions), while 15.4% attended between 25% and 50% of the sessions.
This was the first year in which Aula Lliure offered second-year GEI courses, and 95% of respondents believe this offer should continue.
Finally, 100% recommend attending Aula Lliure.
Regarding the tutors' survey, 92.3% consider Aula Lliure to be a valuable activity for students, and 100% recommend becoming an Aula Lliure tutor. They also stated that they had mainly improved transversal skills, especially effective oral and written communication and autonomous learning. Among the programme's main strengths, they highlighted the opportunity for students to ask questions in a more informal and approachable environment, as well as gaining their first teaching experience with relatively large groups.
In this edition, Aula Lliure had 6 scholarship tutors and 3 volunteer tutors. A total of 14 groups were offered for the courses PRO1, PRO2, EC, M1 and M2.
In this edition, it was not possible to hold Professor David López's training course. Tutors who had not previously completed the course attended a teaching reflection session delivered by Dean Josep Fernandez Ruzafa.

In this edition of Aula Lliure, Professor David López's course could not be conducted. The faculty who had not previously taken the course participated in a teaching reflection session given by Dean Josep Fernandez Ruzafa.

- 100% of respondents consider the program useful for UNDERSTANDING the course and 100% for PASSING it. Finally, 100% recommend Aula Lliure.
Most teaching was delivered in person. In addition, in the survey conducted among Aula Lliure instructors, they indicated which transversal skills they believe the activity promotes. Specifically, they report improvements mainly in oral and written communication, autonomous learning, appropriate attitude towards work, and reasoning. That is, we can affirm that not only students learn, but instructors do as well.
