Inclusion

A FIB for Everyone

At the FIB, we believe that technological and academic excellence goes hand in hand with social commitment. Our goal is to ensure that the Faculty is an open, accessible and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their abilities, background, ethnicity, age or identity.

Our inclusion strategy focuses on several key areas to provide comprehensive support to the university community:

  • Support for People with Disabilities and Specific Needs: We work to make the university accessible to people with disabilities, functional differences or specific needs. This includes removing physical barriers and adapting teaching resources to ensure equal learning opportunities.

  • Cultural Diversity and Interculturality: The FIB brings together talent from around the world. We promote interculturality as a value that enriches research and academic life, fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding.

As a technology-focused faculty, we have a responsibility to educate professionals who are aware of the impact of computing on society. We strive to:

  • Mitigate algorithmic biases that can lead to exclusion or indirect discrimination in the development of artificial intelligence systems.

  • Promote the design of transparent, fair and human-centred AI that serves as a tool for social progress rather than reflecting existing inequalities.
