A team of students from the Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB), including representatives from the Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence (GIA), has been honored with two of the three main awards at the prestigious SENER-CEA Bot Talent 2025-2026 robotics competition. The contest challenged participants' skills in design, technological integration, and solving problems in real-world environments.
The faculty team, known as the Barrendeiros, competed with a self-developed robot (the Barrendeiro robot) and stood out in two of the competition's top categories:
Design Award: An accolade recognizing the most suitable assembly and the excellent application of engineering best practices.
Technology Award: An award distinguishing the most innovative and robust technological and software solution.
Practical learning and teamwork Beyond the excellent results, this experience highlights a learning model based on collaboration, perseverance, and interdisciplinary work. The students faced highly demanding technical challenges in robotics and AI, fostering a supportive team environment essential for their academic and personal growth. The project's coordinators and tutors particularly emphasized the value of the team, the knowledge sharing among members, and their resilience over the last academic years.
The award-winning team consists of students Max Mira García, Máximo Meya, Pablo González Monfort, Pol Pérez Prades, Sergi Flores Marín, Miquel Rodríguez Sansaloni, Jordi Lladós i Clos, Sergi Romero Valderas, and teachers Isiah Zaplana Agut and Anaïs Garell Zulueta.
Huge congratulations to the Barrendeiros for this outstanding achievement!
